Introduction to Management Accounting

Welcome to a Major New Management Accounting Resource

Written and Presented by Duncan Williamson

This resource will help you to understand what it is that the management accountant does, or can do, in virtually any organisation.

This is a bold claim but as the various parts of this work unfold you will come to realise that management accounting is important, that the management accountant is a vital part of an organisation's setup and that the work of the management is at the centre of the best business and management decision making.

Who will Benefit From this Resource?

  • Professional Accountancy Students: ACCA, CIMA, CMA, CFA, ACA, AAT and more
  • Undergraduate Accounting Students: years one and two
  • Undergraduate Business/Management Students: all years
  • Post Graduate Management Students, eg MBA, MSc (Management Studies), DMS: year one
  • Pre University Level Students in Accounting and Business Studies: eg the UK's A levels
  • Practising Non Financial Managers looking to enhance their understanding of the decision making process

The Benefits of this Resource?

This resource has been written with the reader in mind: the foundation of the work you will find here is that we have left no stone unturned in our attempts to make our work readable, understandable and digestible by just about everyone! Other books and resources are fine, some are excellent of course, but none takes the care over its explanations that we do. It will be worth anyone's while to come and work with us!

Each Section is Made up as Follows

  • basic text with examples, exercises and explanations: in full detail and fully cross referenced ... one of the main points to stress is that the text centres around real live and realistic examples and not just the same old text book simplifications.
  • a series of challenging exercises that helps the reader to learn and apply the ideas in each section, including questions from professional examinations such as the ACCA and CIMA: all the answers are fully worked and often add new materials and explanations
  • there will be fully worked Excel Spreadsheet work in many sections of this resource: the free trial includes the kind of things we might do here
  • suggestions for project work: activities that the reader can use to enhance their learning and understanding even further
  • internet links and exercises: readers are directed to carefully selected web sites that further enhance our work. Readers may be asked a question that they can find the answer and supporting resources at a web site; or they may be given a term or phrase to define that is best defined and explained at a web site.

Why do you Need a Password?

Whilst we have a sister web site at www.duncanwil.co.uk that is the foundation of much of what we do here, this resource is password protected because it is like an online book: it is a commercial resource that you have to pay for ... but you won't have to pay too much; and look at the value of what you get. You can appreciate that it takes a lot of time and effort to put together a resource like this one and whilst we can support www.duncanwil.co.uk on an ongoing basis, what you see here requires that people work full time at it.

All this and email Support too?

Yes, everyone who signs up to use this resource will have full access to the author: we already have email support from www.duncanwil.co.uk but that doesn't even try to guarantee a 48 hour turnaround, it doesn't guarantee fully worked and fully referenced solutions and it doesn't guarantee to keep the site up to date ... now WE DO! Buy a chapter and you will get full after sales service: can't say fairer than that can you?

What do I do now?

How do you sign up for all of this? If you are able to pay by cheque, just email for payment details ... once this site has been fully launched there will be secure, on site payments and access instructions that will give you instant access to what it is you have paid for. Please bear with us as we sort out the admin!

How Much will it Cost?

The cost of all of this is just £10 per unit (that's around US$16 at current exchange rates) and you can buy one unit or all units or just some of the units. Excellent value for money. At the moment payment by cheque is the way to pay but online, secure, methods will be available shortly ... write for full payment details.

Take a Look: here's a free trial

Everything we have said so far is just blether, isn't it? The proof of the pudding is in the eating, we say: so tuck in! Click here to take a look at what we have on offer ... free trial ... Then you can sign up confident that you're on to a winner!
