Before 1: pages were designed at the whim and pleasure of whoever wrote it meaning there were many styles in place, the navigation system was dreadful with visitors spending up to 20 hours a week trying to get the information they needed, the page went on and on with links that were up to three years old and many of them were dead ...
After 1: now there is a standardised page layout with a menu bar that stays with the visitor throughout, the menu is comprehensive and each page relates directly to that menu so visitors know where they are at all times, visitors reported their visiting times fell to as little as 1 - 2 hours per week from 20 hours per week EACH, each page is dated and the person generating it is identified, the webmaster is identified and contactable ...
Before 2: one of many tables hastily and badly thrown together, cell borders hideous and incomplete, too many columns, horizontal scrolling needed to read the whole thing, the entire table scrolled downwards for several screens
After 2: by combining names and email adresses, I saved two columns, got rid of the need for horizontal scrolling, got rid of the dreadful and semi random bordering of cells!
